Warm-Up Lap Period

The formation lap has begun.

Track Information

There are 19 laps around the lengthiest track in Formula 1, the commentator reminds us.

Final Moments

The last moments has begun.

Racer Positions

An advantage in Verstappen's favour: his teammate Yuki Tsunoda is in front of him by a single position. It's improbable to mess with the team's main man.

Interview Updates

Sky interviewing Sky currently: Gary Neville is with Mercedes.

Karun Chandhok is jumping ahead to the 2026 season, interviewing the engineer about his promotion to Aston Martin lead role.

Grid Details

Just sixteen vehicles on the grid. This followed another bad qualifying for the driver: after coming 20th and last in the previous race, resulting in an eighth position in the main race, he failed to make it out of Q1 again on Friday. Ferrari have consequently made changes to his car configuration and so he begins from the pit lane.

The team's Stroll and the Alpine duo of Gasly and Franco Colapinto are all starting from the same position.

Racer Statements

"We'll use the experience for the next day," says Hadjar, 11th on the grid. Expect plenty of learning.

Constructors' Championship

It's not all about the individual championship: The team have dominated the constructors' gong but the team, with a forty-point advantage over their rivals, will be hoping to secure the runner-up position during this event. George Russell can help them achieve that from the front row, and Kimi Antonelli will start just behind the leader.

Past Performance

Piastri won that day – as he did the previous season, too. McLaren's Australian is going for a hat-trick.

Short Race Importance

Alright, just over 20 minutes to go till the sprint race begins. Barring disaster, it's greatest value is as an indication of what is to come, instead of significant in its own right, with only eight points awarded to the winner. Mind you, the runner-up spot in this race was enough for Verstappen to become champion two years ago.

The driver wins the championship following his teammate's accident of Qatar GP sprint race.
